This is a drawing in ink and gouache on a page cut from George Miksch Sutton’s Portraits of Mexican Birds. The pictured bird is a Thicket Tinamou. Drawing is 11” x 14”. It’s number 11 in a series of 28 (or 40, depending on how you count) originally done for supporters. Note: the orange gouache (top right) is mixed from a fluorescent pigment and is therefore considerably brighter than pictured.
